Snow under the palms

Last night after dinner we went to the crack dealer- I mean Starbucks! and they had a snow machine. Silly gimmick? Worked for me. The last time I saw snow in Florida was when I was 16. I was with some friends at a boyfriend's house and suddenly someone yelled, "Omigosh it's snowing outside ya'll!" It was like a spaceship had just landed or something, we all went crazy and ran outside. We were dancing, laughing ,and jumping up and down all because of a little bit of snow that didn't even 'stick'. I guess that's what it's like when it snows in Florida and you're a giddy 16 year old.

A couple years ago I spent a winter in Canada and the "magical" feeling this Floridian felt for snow wore off after about 5 minutes. Still though, it was a beautiful moment.....

(I realise the poor quality of the pic, I had it on a day setting and Mr.Pea is not used to my camera)

That's about all the snow I can handle, too! Somehow the idea of snow in Florida is rather odd, though. :)

My dad has a saying "the snow doesn't come to me, I go to the snow!" (of course he doesn't live in NYC with me where so far it has snowed twice but not stuck at all.)

Anyway, who does Starbucks think they are to violate my dad's rule? (If he lived in FL, I mean.)

I think it's hilarious though.

It's better when you don't have to shovel it.

And you had me fooled for a while I thought it was real snow.

That's actually a pretty awesome idea, I must say.
Now, make about a foot of it and that's exactly how things are here in MN right now.
